I’m a pretty pale person. By pretty pale I mean I’m normally the lightest or second lightest in any range of foundation shades and my concealer is basically white. When I was younger I used to tan really fast and easy, (that could also be because I actually spent time in the sun though) and in my early 20s I was known to hit the tanning salon on occasion as well.
My biggest problem was that my face and neck would literally never tan, so I would end up being super pale on top and tan everywhere else (kind of the opposite of the early 2000s orange face-white neck look). After I decided that I didn’t want to damage my skin at the solarium I started hunting for some really good self tanners. I found myself trying to use it on my face and neck but it either made my face look super blotchy or it irritated my skin in that area so I stopped. Now, obviously a really easy solution is just buying a darker foundation to match your tan and I totally recommend you do that, but I’m one of those people that doesn’t always put makeup on to leave the house, especially in the summer, so I managed to find two products that can tan your face for you without the nastiness of putting a self tanner on it!
1. Josie Maran Argan Liquid Gold Self-Tanning Face Oil – Jesus what a mouthful! I got this with some Sephora points out of sheer curiosity and it’s amazing! It works almost instantly and makes my skin tanned and glowing! Also, being an oil, it’s not drying and actually makes your skin feel moisturized and smooth. Will definitely be buying a full size of this soon!
2. Tarte Brazilliance Skin Rejuvanating Maracuja Self Tanning Towelettes – I love these because they’re so simple! It’s literally a towelettes that you swipe across your face and it gradually tans you. Genius. Smells like summer and is a great refresher on a hot day.
Hope you guys found this helpful, and as always thank you for reading!
