I’m sure I’m not the only person who suffers from skin changes literally every season. It’s super annoying and frustrating when you FINALLY get your skin to that smooth, clear state only to have the season change and suddenly you’re back to square one. As a beauty blogger, I am often privileged to try different products from different brands, and I also enjoy going out myself and looking for new things to try, and one of my recent purchases was the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Rescue Gel-Cream. In the past I never really went for gel moisturizers because I always felt like cream moisturizers were “fancy” (LOL I was strange as a teen) and so I just developed a habit of only using cream moisturizers. I am however, SO happy with myself for expanding my knowledge and taking a leap to try a water-based gel cream because I feel like my life has changed completely.
I bought this at my local Shoppers Drug Mart and saw that they had two types of gel-creams in this line. I picked up the green one because it says it’s for normal/combo-skin whereas the pink one is for dry skin. I wasn’t too sure which one to get because I don’t officially have dry skin, just periods of extreme dryness depending on the weather but I think I made the right choice because this has worked wonders for me. My skin feels SO smooth and soft afterwards with zero greasiness, my makeup doesn’t crease (I barely ever use a primer) like ever, and I love how I can feel my skin getting a giant glass of water down its “throat.”
I have heard a lot of people compare this to the Tatcha Water Bomb saying that it’s a dupe for it and while I haven’t tried the Water Bomb (so I can’t confirm officially) I can say that after reading/seeing/watching Tatcha Water Bomb reviews that it definitely does seem like it could be a great dupe for it. I can’t remember how much I paid for it but I think it was somewhere between $11 and $16? Don’t quote me on that because I have the memory of a goldfish though.
All in all, I’m super happy with this moisturizer and can say I’ve found a holy-grail that I will be keeping around for a long time. My success with this cream has motivated me to try out more drug store skincare so there will be a L’Oreal face mask review coming soon as well! 🙂
Hope you all enjoyed this review and as always thank you for reading my ramblings!
